Björk Explain's Biophilia's Delay, Due 10/11

The ever so preciously eccentric perfectionist Bjork has announced her album, Biophilia, originally due September 27th, will now be out October 11th. "How the physics of sound ... is similar to how planets and how microscopic things work," Bjork says of the album. She explains the delay in an e-mail to fans:

dear folks

i would like to explain why my album is coming out later than was first intended

after humongous and fun adventurous work with the app builders we handed in the music for the app box last may i felt sonically it fitted that underworld of apps and virtual reality like a glove , kinda acoustic and clean with a slick dark sub but somehow the cd needed more blood and muscles , oxygen and stuff

Garbage Details 5th Album & Tour

Garbage recently revealed that they are currently finishing work on 24 songs! 12 of which will be mixed and mastered by October 17th. Those 12 songs will constitute the new album. The remaining 12 songs will also be mixed and mastered by the end of the year and will be released as b-sides, extra tracks, and/or possibly Christmas gifts for their loyal fans. Additionally, the band is also planning their first tour in 7 years.

PJ Harvey Releasing iTunes Session EP

PJ Harvey will release an iTunes Session EP on September 12. Tracklist after the jump. The EP will include an interview, as well as newly recorded versions of some old and recent songs from the 2011 Mercury Prize Winning album Let England Shake, including 'Angelene' and 'Down By the Water', which I am really looking forward to! Harvey previously released an iTunes Original album in 2004, which included an amazing version of 'Fountain,' amongst others.

Madonna Confirms 12th Album, New Single

In a recent interview discussing her directorial debut, W.E., Madonna confirmed she is working with William Orbit in New York on her new album. She plans to be in the studio until the end of the year and have a single out by February/March. On what to expect from the album, she confidently states, 'More good music!"
